WebWe are short RNs, especially specialty trained RNs, like ICU. We are not short RPNs. Regardless, our healthcare system has zero budget to hire more staff. And certainly not full time staff. This has been an issue for years. Positions sit vacant and remaining staff must take on heavier loads to cover those vacancies.
