WebI've got both. The chief reason I run the AVS professionally is because it's issued. The AAC is a great option and arguably better as a dedicated medium plate carrier. The AVS is basically 3 plate carriers in one. It's a minimalist plate carrier (albeit a poor one), a medium plate carrier, and a full armor chassis. WebIt is good. However it may be a little overkill for general use for a civilian looking to protect themselves in SHTF scenarios and flat range training. Ultimately you need to decide if it fits your needs. It is a very well made carrier with a great harness system if you are wearing it for over 6 hours a day with a +30lb load.
